We were delighted to learn that our historical landmark status building was the subject of a watercolor work by renowned regional artist, Mary Hamilton.
Mary Hamilton was born in Arvilla, Pleasants County, West Virginia. She exhibits her work on a continuing basis in the local galleries. Mary is a member of the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society; the Pennsylvania Water Society; The Northwestern Pennsylvsania Atist’s Association; and the Presque Isle Artist’s Association. She has won numerous awards over the years.
She was the 1993 featured artist for Erie’s public TV station’s WQLN Annual Auction raising funds with the print sales of her the Nature Center at Asbury Woods. In 1996, Mary was the featured artist for the Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Annual Art Lottery. In the fall of ‘2000’, Mary was one of the featured artists in the ‘Presque Isle Book’. Her 2001 Gofish! Erie Project was sponsored by GPU Energy of Northwestern Pennsylvania and is on display at the Penelec Office in Erie.
Mary conducts workshops, classes, and art instruction on an individual basis. She enjoys great support in her art career from both her husband and son, and the community.
